From placeholder build to playable proof
Technical readiness and visual readiness are separate. The next proof has to bring them into the same frame.

A useful build, not a representative one
The recovered internal build was technically useful. It could expose dependencies, establish what ran, and help bound the work ahead. It was not visually representative of VERITAS.
The visible player and non-player character treatment remained at placeholder and blockout quality. That distinction matters: a functioning build can answer technical questions while still failing to communicate the intended world.
Reference is not integration
The gap was not closed by declaring concept art complete. Canonical images can establish intent, but the missing work is translation: silhouette, materials, scale, light, motion, and behavior reproduced coherently in the game.
We separated the states used in review: REFERENCE → CANDIDATE → VISUALLY APPROVED → INTEGRATED → ACCEPTED. Each word names different evidence. None can substitute for the next.
A reference can set the bar. Only the build can prove it has been met.
Visual Proof 01
The next gate is deliberately small: one Wanderer, one NPC, and one bounded Green Vale area at actual gameplay scale. The proof must survive motion and produce inspectable screenshot and video evidence.
This is not a request for breadth. It is a request for one honest comparison between the approved direction and a running implementation.
Current state
VERITAS remains in development. The canonical Wanderer and world references have been recovered, visual targets have been established, and the proof required for acceptance remains open.
The lesson is operational rather than dramatic: technical readiness and visual readiness must be tracked separately, then brought together through evidence.
